Church Garage. The vestry has given Senior Warden Gary Naegel and Junior Warden Gary Cimmino the authority to reorganize and, when necessary, clean out the garage located next to the rectory. The garage is used to store Christmas and other decorations, but also contains a large number of sawhorses and plywood sheets that belong to the Friends of Hammonasset.
Security. Vestry member Ray Hencir is exploring what measures might be taken regarding security at St. Andrew’s. He has met with the pre-school staff, spoken with officials at two other churches and plans to meet with the church’s ushers.
Budget. Treasurer Cathy Golden will present the final draft of the 2018 budget for adoption at the vestry’s Jan. 16 meeting. She said that a number of changes will be made to the way St. Andrew’s manages its finances in the coming year – a bookkeeper was being hired, expense categories revised, and a written list of standard operating procedures created.
Treasurer’s Report. Pledge income for the year is running $21,900 or 11.6 percent under budget. Meanwhile, expenses are running 1.6 percent over what had been budgeted for 2017.
Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee was still working on finding nominees for treasurer, convention delegate and vestry positions that need to be filled. A completed list of nominees will be presented at the vestry’s Jan. 16 meeting.
